Martin is the Director of Partnerships and the Midwest Regional Director for Peace Catalyst Intl. He is based in Louisville KY, where he works to create safe spaces for Muslims and Christians to form genuine friendships, mutual respect and understanding. He is very interested in diversity issues. Martin is a PhD student studying Education and Social Change and an adjunct professor at Bellarmine University. He sits on the board of Interfaith Paths to Peace in Louisville KY. He has lived with his family in Mozambique, Ghana, Portugal, and Turkish Cyprus where he received a Master of Arts in International Relations from Near East University. He has supervised missionaries and humanitarian projects in Bosnia, Afghanistan, Iraq, South Sudan, Morocco, Tanzania, and Ghana. Martin created a cross-cultural training program for westerners desiring to live and work internationally. More recently, he has worked with the Mayor’s Office for Globalization in Louisville KY to help establish local representative Ethnic Community Based Organizations.  He has organized programs with state legislators in the capitol of Kentucky designed to help the state be more welcoming to the foreign born. He helps organize the work of Evangelicals for Peace, a collaborative effort between Peace Catalyst Intl, Sojourners, World Vision, World Relief, National Association of Evangelicals, Pathways and other evangelical organizations, to promote an evangelical understanding of complex international issues and influence US foreign policy in Kingdom centered ways. He will be the co-facilitator of the afternoon Convening on Global Peace.
