Ann Phelps
Theodicy Jazz Collective vocalist/liturgist/theologian
Jackson, MS
I'm wrapping up my tenure as the Director of Religious Life at Millsaps College in Jackson, MS and looking toward moving more fully into my freelance work as a interfaith activist, teacher, and artist. In addition to my work with Theodicy Jazz Collective, I offer services, conferences, and workshops that explore the ways liturgy and music shape our ideas about God, self, and neighbor and can move us toward just action. When I'm not on the road doing this, I work in Jackson MS with a number of organizations focused on interfaith dialogue, racial justice and healing, and the empowerment of women in our community (namely, faithandreason.org, Working Together Jackson). B.A. in the Arts in Theology, Hastings College, M.A. in Religion and the Arts, Yale University (Institute of Sacred Music).
